Job Purpose

 

To provide a day-based engineering support service to the Salt business with minimal supervision as part of a team of operations, instrument, electrical and mechanical personnel and have the ability to maximise the reliability and availability of the INEOS Inovyn assets and ensure SHE targets are met.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Uphold the INEOS 20 Behavioural & Process Safety Principles and Life Saving Rules in all activities undertaken.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance routines on LV electrical systems.
  • Carry out fault-finding following equipment failure, identifying problems and resolving them within a specified timescale while minimising costs. This may include organising spares, labour, and third-party interaction upfront to minimise downtime.
  • Interact with the Maintenance Coordinator, Discipline Engineers, and Operations Technicians to understand daily plant issues and act on them to deliver solutions.
  • Initiate maintenance activities and record them in SAP (notifications and work order feedback).
  • Work within the work control systems and accompanying SSOWs and IGGNs.
  • Supervise and facilitate personnel and work activities where required, including contractors and service providers.
  • Supervise and facilitate job packs/project packs when required, e.g. maintenance of HV distribution boards.

 

Skills & Experience

 

  • Minimum of a recognised apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 qualification, or equivalent.
    ONC (HNC preferred).
  • Comp Ex Modules 01–04 certificate.
  • Current IEE Wiring Regulations certificate.
  • Experience with working with bagging and packaging machines preferable but not essential.
  • Ability to progress a job from initiation to completion, including organising support services.
  • The ability to work in a flexible environment with all levels of staff and contractors is essential.
  • Maintain competencies through participation in internal and external training courses as required.
