About the Opportunity

We have opportunities within our Process Engineering function and encourage applications from both experienced candidates and those with less experience who are keen to develop. 

These roles combine technical process engineering and project management during the pre-sale and execution phases of electrolyser and engineering supply projects. You will also contribute to the ongoing support of IES manufacturing assets.

Depending on experience, you will take ownership of delivering technical work packages, leading projects, and acting as a trusted advisor to clients and partners.

One role will include responsibility as Basis of Safety Responsible Engineer for IES manufacturing and pilot plants, ensuring plant safety principles are clearly defined, maintained and effectively communicated.


Key Responsibilities

  • Produce or supervise the production of process design packages and other engineering studies for chlor-alkali and alkaline water electrolysis (AWE) plants
  • Support / manage electrolyser supply projects, including customer communication, scope coordination, progress monitoring and issue resolution
  • Develop and maintain core process and technical documentation for all chlor-alkali and AWE unit operations, to support FEL1- 3 project phases
  • Provide expert technical and process engineering advice to clients during the development of detailed design and in hazard studies, design reviews, feasibility studies and on-site troubleshooting / commissioning support
  • Support business development activities, including visits / meetings with  potential clients and preparation of technical proposal and contract documents
  • Deliver technical presentations and communications to potential clients and at conferences to influence the sale of electrolysis technology and engineering services
  • Provide process engineering services to IES manufacturing assets
  • (Where applicable) act as Basis of Safety Responsible Engineer for IES pilot plants and electrode coating facilities

About You

Essential

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Experience in process plant design, commissioning and/or operation
  • Strong process engineering and technical capability, with a proactive approach to learning and development
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to varied audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across internal teams and with clients at all levels and from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Possess the gravitas to be credible in the role of an expert adviser to clients 
  • Experience in plant safety management, including hazard studies, SIL assessment, area classification and change management systems
  • Commitment to safety, health, environmental and engineering standards
  • Willingness to travel internationally on occasion

 

Desirable

  • Experience with staged-gate project execution
  • Knowledge of chlor-alkali and/or hydrogen electrolysis technologies
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards Chartership

Initial Conversation
