Job Purpose

To develop and lead the implementation of the site energy strategy.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure all energy management procedures and energy related activities comply with SHE standards and policies.
  • Manage the Site Energy Performance through monitoring, analysis, reporting and forecasting on the site energy usage and cost.
  • Manage the Energy Procurement and Sales for all commercial activities for the sourcing / selling of the Sites energy, or energy related products.
  • Develop and maintain the site energy management system (ISO 50001 or equivalent) as a driver for energy and emissions improvement.
  • Manage a portfolio of energy improvement projects, including as defined / identified in the Energy Management System and aligned to business direction (including projects linked to the site decarbonisation map for retention of subsidies and various projects for EBITDA maximisation.
  • Manage Site specific non commodity contracts or third party supplies.

 

Skills and Knowledge

  • A degree (engineering, preferably chemical) with 5 years post graduate experience in an operations or commercial role.
  • Strategic thinker able to synthesize data from a broad range of sources, making strategic links between issues to see the broader picture.
  • Able to logically break down problems into essential elements, carry out diagnosis and develop solutions.
  • Broad knowledge of chemical processes and energy technology.
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to develop and implement negotiation strategies to secure mutually beneficial outcomes.
